Description

Once again, I wish I could be a photographer, but this is sort of my starting phases into trying to be one. Just a picture that I had to stop for a moment and photograph, the sun was out, a black & white picture felt like the best way to display this.

There are parts overexposed. The thumbnail captured my attention but the full version seems to be too busy for me. I am not sure if you were able to wait and just have only the two standing flamingos for this composition...Just my taste :)

Shine is very well! The water looks like self eluminated and gives to picture extra volume.
The plants on front line shines as metal.

Nice high contrast pic - i'm sure your choice of b/w was correct for this one.
The branches coming down from the top provide a nice canopy to frame the main focus of the image (the drinking bird).
The main elements of the pic are the canopy, the drinking bird, the flow of the river from the right which draws the eye to the bird, and the foreground that gives it a feeling of depth. You could try 'tinkering' with the crop a bit to try to emphasise these elements - that would help make the composition a little 'tighter'. Ask yourself if you need all of the foreground or all of that space to the left - and just play around with it.
Capturing the bird as he was taking a drink was a good moment. (thumbup)

I think the overexposed parts of this image make it work! Nice job! :)

Nice capture!...but maybe another angle or composition would be better.

I agree with most here. I think an isolation of one, or maybe two, in a darker BG would have been nicer! Still a nice shot. ;)
